If you're not familiar with Louis Rossman this is a good introduction. Normally his YouTube videos I enjoy but ramble longer than necessary. This talk is to the point.

I honestly don't know what I used before DBeaver. This is a lie because before DBeaver and on Windows I would use HeidiSQL (you can use this via Wine if you insist, but stay with me on this) but DBeaver is better than Heidi in pretty much every way. I genuinely use this software every single day when I'm working.
Top features? Being able to directly copy data from one database to another, dump and SQL query to file (in most formats), and being able to add SSH tunneling to connections AND save the tunnel in config so you can easily access all of your databases without faff.
I'm sure there's more to say, because I'm sure I don't even know about half of the features, but it's solid. I would recommend if only to avoid PHPMyAdmin timeouts when importing large files.
